rutgers take back the tap
Despite tap water being perfectly safe to drink, people continue to purchase disposable water bottles. Take Back the Tap works to change this fact and incorporate more water bottle fill stations on campus. The main objectives include educating the public about the negative consequences of the bottled water industry, environmental and human rights issues regarding privatization, and promoting reusable water bottles. For more information, please go to our Facebook page: Rutgers Take Back the Tap

Waste diversion
Rutgers Waste Diversion believes that we can recycle much more than plastic water bottles and cans. They are educating our campus about the many different ways we can reduce our waste and keep the waste we do produce out of the landfill. They are currently collecting personal care product packaging, granola bar wrappers, and dental hygiene product packaging to send to Terracycle for recycling.

Banish the Bag
Banish the Bag's ultimate goal is to eliminate the distribution of plastic bags on Rutgers campuses. Thus far we have implemented a plastic bag recycling bin in the Cook Student Center. We are working closely with administration and Cook Campus Dean, Judy Storch, to stop the use of plastic bags in the student center all together. These small steps will all help Rutgers go from consuming millions of plastic bags a year to zero!

SEA-Food
SEA Food tackles more than just seafood sustainability. They are helping to make our dining halls more sustainable no matter what they are serving. We can serve more sustainable foods on campus and reduce food waste and food packaging in many ways. SEA Food partnered with RUSA and other student organizations to help bring you the Cupanion, and they are supporters of Menus of Change.
